In 2025, Nevada lawmakers introduced AB238 and AB5 — legislation designed to bring film productions to the state by requiring certified local crews. The bills came close to passing, but ultimately failed.
Why It Didn’t Pass — And Why That’s Good News
The bills didn’t move forward because Nevada wasn’t yet ready with a certified creative workforce. Lawmakers wanted proof that local talent could be trained, tracked, and studio‑ready — and that proof didn’t exist at the time.
That pause created space for Fade2stage to step in. Rather than seeing it as failure, it’s the moment Nevada realized what was missing: a clear pipeline of certified writers, actors, directors, and crew. What We Offer
Fade2stage provides courses across every stage of the filmmaking pipeline — from Development to Pre‑Production, Production, and Post‑Production. Students gain real skills, certify as Nevada residents, and become part of the workforce lawmakers will need when incentives return in 2027.
Along the way, students showcase their skills, certifications, and projects directly to upcoming producers. Every course builds toward a portfolio that proves you’re skilled and ready to be hired.
Development
In the development stage, we focus on transforming raw scripts into professional, investor‑ready packages. Students learn the tools and strategies that make projects fundable and attractive to producers, talent, and financiers. Actors are included in this process, working alongside writers and producers to bring scripts to life during workshops and table reads.
Production
In the production stage, projects move from planning to action. This is where cameras roll, actors perform, and crews bring the vision to life on set. Students gain hands‑on experience with the collaborative process of filmmaking — working alongside directors, producers, and talent to execute the creative plan developed in earlier stages.
Pre Production
In the pre‑production stage, we focus on turning packaged projects into ready‑to‑shoot productions. Students learn how to organize schedules, finalize budgets, secure locations, and prepare casting. This is where creative ideas become actionable plans, and actors, crew, and producers align to ensure a smooth transition into filming.
Post Production
In the post‑production stage, projects move from raw footage to polished films ready for audiences. Students learn how editing, sound design, visual effects, and color grading shape the final story. This is where performances, visuals, and sound come together to create a finished product that can be distributed to festivals, streaming platforms, and theaters.
